About Leza Cameron Cyr

My biggest butt whopping was from drawing on the wall when I was 4 in crayon behind the bookshelf… and I’ve been drawing and creating ever since. My Poppa taught me how to make things with wood and how to use tools. My mother loved making art out if coloured glass she baked and cracked and used as you would paint.
I’ve been told I would paint anything not moving and a few things that do. Then write about it.

About the Process

My art is based on a western life. In the desert water and resources are important. I love to create using recycled items, with bits of paper and or clay.To create unique artwork. When I’m not physically creating art, I’m writing. Children’s books, books about western life. And then I illustrate them.

I see something and think what can I do with this other than put it in a landfill. Then I get inspired and create a bit of magic. I love to write about the process that got me there. Sitting in the desert on my front porch watching the sky.

I created a space for these ideas to live and become reality. The “RockN' C Ranch” holds the all of the creations sold as part of Matilda’s Art Emporium. Although only half completed, because I easily get distracted by creating new art, she a working studio in my back yard. My employees are 3 dogs and 2 cats… oh, and 3 hummingbirds! Encased behind trees I escape to create.

I’d love to share ideas. And possibly start up a series of classes on “how to make” some of my art in my backyard.

I also read my children’s books whenever the possibility presents itself. Most can be found on Amazon , but I always have gems I’m working on.
