Dr. Cullen, Director of the Pima County Health Department, shares what she is most excited about as the SaludArte program is underway!
I am excited that public health and the arts community are working together, and I hope that this is only the beginning of a strong collaboration. This is the first time that PCHD has included funding for the arts in our grant submissions, and it has been amazing to see what has been possible by working together. This concept was initially envisioned during brainstorming moments when we realized the impact of the pandemic on the artist community–and recognized that the creation of hope and resiliency required us to address this part of our lives.
My hope for the participants is that this work will support and foster healing and that, as individuals and communities, we can look forward to a new time of recovery and resiliency.
