Arts Foundation Executive Director, Adriana Gallego, will be attending the “Healing, Bridging, Thriving: A Summit on Arts and Culture in our Communities” in Washington, D.C. This event, co-hosted by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the White House, is scheduled for Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. E.T. and will be available via livestream at arts.gov.
This first-of-its-kind summit aims to highlight the essential role of arts and culture in shaping lives, communities, and the nation. It will bring together leaders from various sectors, including government, policymaking, the arts, academia, and philanthropy, to discuss the impact of the arts on health and well-being, community revitalization, democracy, and equitable outcomes.
Among the notable speakers and panelists are Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff and key figures like Neera Tanden, domestic policy advisor to President Biden, and Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD, chair of the NEA, who will emphasize the vital importance of arts and humanities in national development and resilience.
