Sheltering Light, Sheltering Images

'Sheltering Light' is an environmental installation that was developed to support a visceral experience and a feeling of the "exterior environment" as it relates to the inner world of this facility. I wanted to bring in the feeling of an oasis in the middle of this arid region. The suspended art of the entry lobby depicts flowers, vines and leaves, water bubbles, and rays of light. These forms are then combined with digital images of desert life from the ground to the skies above.

Working with acrylic and metal, artist Koryn Rolstad creates an immersive experience, suspending various sculptural elements in the air, manipulating the viewer's environment. These figurative elements include flowers, leave, bubbles, and depictions of light.
