Subaerial Embrace
We wanted to make something that was endemic or place-specific to Tucson, and because you can view the Catalina mountain range from this location, we gathered some of our inspiration from the rock formations.

The sculpture is made out of mild steel and concrete stucco and provides protection for a bike and pedestrian barometer. Installed just south of the Rillito Race Track on The Chuck Huckelberry Loop.
Dimensions: Main structure of two arches measures 17’h x 37’w x 29’d. Larger freestanding "boulder" structure 8’t x 7.5’ x 8’. Smaller freestanding "boulder" 4’t x 6.5’ x 6.5’
