We are pleased to welcome a new team member to the Arts Foundation Team! Meet Dalia Prado, Administrative Assistant.

Dalia Prado is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist who channels her craft through her community, culture, ancestry, and experimentation. Her works and collaborations span theater, dance, film photography, and music, with clay standing out as her most beloved medium.

Raised in Gilbert, Arizona, Dalia immersed herself in the Phoenix art scene as a teenager, becoming an enthusiastic collaborator with other artists. However, it wasn’t until her move to Tucson in 2020 that she began delving into various solo projects. Her recent endeavors involve clay sculptures that intertwine her indigenous roots with a whimsical touch.

Professionally, Dalia has primarily worked in administrative and non-profit sectors. In her previous role as the Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator at Bicycle Inter-Community Arts and Salvage (BICAS), she developed programs and tools prioritizing the dissemination of knowledge, equity, and empowerment among marginalized communities.

Her educational background encompasses business, art history, and fashion, with studies completed in Mesa, Arizona, Mexico City, and Guanajuato, Mexico.

When not immersed in work or creating art, Dalia can be found reading, napping with her cat Shadow, sharing laughter with friends, practicing herbalism, exploring her Purepecha heritage, or attending local community events and shows.

Since moving to Tucson, she fell in love with a region and is fiercely proud to call Southern Arizona her home.
