The Arts Foundation team continues to grow! Please join us in welcoming our new Communications Associate, Sabrina Parra!
While in her role as Communications Coordinator, Sabrina will be working towards expanding the Arts Foundation’s outreach to all geographic areas of our service region. She is tasked with collecting, synthesizing, and assessing current databases related to our service regions’s demographics and application history. Additionally, she will be interfacing with communities, building current and new relationships. The goal is to ensure that we are interfacing with our broad constituency, ensuring that all communities have access to our grants, calls to artists, and services.
Sabrina was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by her friends and a very large family. Growing up, she took an interest in dance and became a part of the local dance community, where she learned how to express her thoughts and feelings through physical movement.
Sabrina attended the University of Arizona and received her Bachelor’s degree as a double major in Pre-Law and Mexican-American Studies. During her time as a student at the university, she became involved with several organizations focused on equity and justice. During these experiences, she made the decision to dedicate her career to community wellness with the same objectives of equity and justice in mind. Sabrina is applying to several J.D. programs to study immigration law and plans to dedicate her career to helping individuals become naturalized U.S. citizens.
While working on her law school applications, Sabrina was invited to apply to the Public Allies 2023-2024 cohort, facilitated through the ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation, which focuses on expanding Allie’s ability to lead within their community. Her acceptance as a finalist in the program created the opportunity for her to match with the Arts Foundation and work as a Communications Coordinator. Through her work, Sabrina can continue expanding on her goal of community wellness due to the art and creativity services and programs fostered by the Arts Foundation.
