About Creative Exposures Photo

My photography journey started in high school, with a used Canon given to me by my father, along with a slip of paper describing the exposure triangle. Coupled with the artistic influence of my mother, I was hooked!

As an introvert, hiding behind my camera was the perfect way for me to see the world in a different way, noticing details and colors that I might otherwise miss. It’s also a way for me to tell a story, connecting with others by capturing a moment in their lives or documenting the life cycle of an elusive desert flower.

As a native of Tucson, I’ve always been interested in the colors and light of the desert, whether photographing landscapes, flowers or people. Finding the simple details, pops of color and beautiful light make me happy.

About the Process

The Night Blooming Cereus is the star of my recently published book, "Queen of the Night: A Rare Beauty". I am obsessed with these flowers as they transform from a dead looking stick to show-stopping bloom. I enjoy sharing my tips and tricks for lighting and photographing the Queen and helping others get their best image.
Wearable art featuring my images provides a pop of color.
Storm chasing takes planning, determination, skill, the right equipment and a little craziness. Being in the right place at the right time is half the battle, and sometimes you just get lucky.
