About Dennis Wunsch

Dennis Wunsch is an award-winning illustrator, designer and painter whose work has been featured in books, magazines and advertising around the world. Dennis received his BFA in Painting and Drawing from Eastern Illinois University. His illustration career began with drawing Scooby-Doo and Super Friends cartoons for Hanna-Barbera. He then spent over three decades as art director, creative director and illustrator at advertising and publishing firms, where he continually developed his own artistic skills.

Most recently, his time is split between fine art painting and illustration. Dennis’ paintings integrate many years of related art and design experience that helped shape his art. He also works on commercial illustration commissions.

Dennis lives and works just outside of Tucson, Arizona with his wife and not-so small family of rescued dogs and cats. He is a foster parent/volunteer for several local animal rescues.

The desert gives life: No. 13

This image is part of a series, created digitally, and is inspired by the Sonoran Desert – and, has just a few personal embellishments added.

Desert spring

This artwork is also part of a series. It was created to convey the vivid colors, complexity and detail found in the Sonoran Desert Region. Not quite as the eye sees it, but as an artist’s interpretation of the landscape, skies, flora and fauna.
