About Pete Goldlust & Melanie Germond

As public artists, we enjoy working with communities to make their environments more engaging and beautiful, and to instill a sense of wonder and playfulness into daily life. We understand the importance of listening closely to stakeholders and working cooperatively to discover each location's distinct character and needs. We strive to make work that warms and humanizes public spaces, rewarding continued exploration from each new angle and with each repeated encounter. Gentle humor and a sense of play are often important elements in our artwork.

Since 2009, We have been awarded 30+ public commissions across the U.S., including sculpture, reliefs, and mural work, with budgets up to $250k. We’ve worked in a wide range of media: metalwork, glass, mosaic, concrete, terrazzo, painted murals, and sculptural work with a variety of recycled materials. Our work often addresses multiple surfaces and spaces within a site, using a variety of media to create holistic multi-element installations.
