My My art practice is focused on the creation of site-specific artworks. These projects are intended to create a sense of place and pride, often by taking inspiration from nature, science, and storytelling.
I primarily work in architectural terra cotta, metal, and cast glass. Recent developments have allowed for large and complex installations that combine precise machine fabrication with hand-made craftsmanship. These materials are durable, highly resistant to vandalism and UV exposure and will last many lifetimes without any degradation.
Over the years I have found inspiration working with community members, architects and engineers to find common ground and successful integration into the built environment. My sculptures and murals have been installed in public and private spaces such as libraries, hospitals, public safety buildings, and universities.
Thank you for your consideration,

A series of relief sculptures which tell the story of the Japanese Americans of Bainbridge Island who were forcibly removed to internment camps during WW2. Carved in architectural terra cotta and stained with washes of glaze. Installed at the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Excursion Memorial, Bainbridge Island, WA.
This backlit mural of cast glass is installed in Denver’s Fire Station 35. From the firefighter’s cross a beacon of light and energy is projected out and over the grid of neighborhood streets, symbolizing the firefighters’ vigilance and protection of the communities they serve.
