Steven Gardner

My work explores themes of connection, often using concepts from nature, science and storytelling. Recent works have taken the form of large murals of laser-cut aluminum and colored cast glass.
About Steven Gardner

My My art practice is focused on the creation of site-specific artworks. These projects are intended to create a sense of place and pride, often by taking inspiration from nature, science, and storytelling.

I primarily work in architectural terra cotta, metal, and cast glass. Recent developments have allowed for large and complex installations that combine precise machine fabrication with hand-made craftsmanship. These materials are durable, highly resistant to vandalism and UV exposure and will last many lifetimes without any degradation.

Over the years I have found inspiration working with community members, architects and engineers to find common ground and successful integration into the built environment. My sculptures and murals have been installed in public and private spaces such as libraries, hospitals, public safety buildings, and universities.

Thank you for your consideration,
