Spanish American War Memorial

Spanish American War Memorial "The Hiker." The monument is a figure of a soldier in campaign uniform, standing on a 6 foot stone pedestal. He is one in a series of at least 50 monuments cast by the artist, for the most part war memorials, veterans' memorials and military portraits commemorating the Civil War, the Spanish American War, and World War I. Replicas of this figure, from the same casting at the Gorham Foundries, may be seen in Schenectedy, NY and Lynn, MA.
