The Iron Butterfly
The Iron Butterfly is the culmination of over 10 years of working on the perfect flapping mechanism. Butterflies and flying mechanisms have interested me ever since I was a child. This public art kinetic butterfly is intended to inspire people to make bold actions of creation and to embrace metamorphosis through faith in the unknown.

Made of mesquite wood and metal, 'The Iron Butterfly' is an outdoor mechanical sculpture made by the Bevel Butterfly Company. It has a gentle oscillating flap that intends to bring peace to those who gaze upon it. The butterfly's name references the train which runs alongside the sculpture.
