The images consist of both figurative and decorative motifs executed in a combination of illusionistic, handmade mosaic and relief tiles. Themes include the relationship of the individual to nature, civic life, family, work, and the depiction of community values.

Two large murals of brightly colored low-relief ceramic tile by artists Cristina Cardenas and Melody Peters are mounted on the west side of the building in the outside visitation yard. Images of Tucson and Mexican culture abound with two Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Calaveras (skeletons) catching the viewers attention.
