About this Tour

Painitngs and drawings will be shown on grids at the entrance to the house and in the hallway leading to my sunlit studio. I will have a computer video showing public work, large work (not in the studio) and a short explanation on how I work. I will have a scheduled demonstration each day showing how I start and develop my painitngs; time to be determined. Refreshments, water and fresh baked goodies will be out for my guests. This will be an INTRODUCTION to ReneeF.

About the Art

About the Process

I paint mainly in oil and enhance my images by using powdered pigmaents that I mix with different mediums, such as wax and oil or egg yolk or acrylic medium to achive different effects in the overall image. I iwll overlay paint-ie glaze to get a deep color. I see an image/object I want to paint-sketch it first a few time on paper to familiarize myself with the object and create a picture. Then I work form the layout in the sketch and paint on canvass, cardboard, board, or other surfaces to creat the image-all the while I am staring at the "real" object/subject to get the sense I feel..sometimes detailing what I want the viewer to pay attention to and leaving other ares vague so the veiwer won't be drawn to that part of the picture. I know when a painting is completed when the canvass porteys the relationship I have with the scene.
