About Cita Scott

Cita has lived in Tucson, AZ for almost 30 years. The colors and light of the Southwest infuse her work, which celebrates nature through still life, landscapes and gardenscapes in acrylic, collage and photography. Born in California, Cita grew up on the east coast and traveled extensively, particularly in Europe where she studied at La. Academia de Bettas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid and La Sorbonne in Paris. A major in studio art and art history, she received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College in N.Y. She was an assistant painting instructor for the University of Michigan’s Semester Abroad art program in Lacoste, France and spent several summers painting near Barcelona. Before painting full time, she was assistant director of The Pyramid Galleries in Washington, D.C. and manager of The Max Hutchinson Gallery in New York. Cita has had museum exhibits at The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC and The North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, N.C..as well as numerous group and solo exhibits in Washington, DC, Tucson, California and NY. Her work is represented in museum and corporate collections, as well as private collections throughout the country.
