About Rafael Angel Diaz

I am a Puerto Rican artist born in Aguas Buenas, a charming small town in the mountain region of the Island where I was raised surrounded by admirable people, traditions, music, customs, mountains, animals, rain, rivers, and a fauna and flora of an incredible beauty. I moved to Tucson Arizona in 2007 where I found love and an incredible desert beauty landscape with some of the most amazing mountains and sunsets. Today I divide my life and time between Arizona and Puerto Rico. My small hometown with its mountains, beaches, clouds, and people combined with Tucson and the majestic desert are my inspirations. Tiny concrete houses, many times empty, on the side of a steep hill and surrounded by dense vegetation inspire me. The desert’s sunsets provide a peaceful feeling and deliver a color palette of immense brilliance and intense emotions. Painting is life, emotion, and feelings. I look for some color balance in these two paradises while attempting to create an ambiance, an impression.
